Background

PUSAT Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (Sarawak Skills Development Centre) Regional office at Lutong, Miri was launched on 29 May 2007. The new regional office in Miri will cater for the communities in Sarawak northern region both for the school levers programmes and skills enhancement training for industrial workers. Currently, there are 1 certificate programme, 5 Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) programmes and I Industrial Skills Enhancement Programme (INSEP) being conducted on full time basis in Lutong campus.

Product and services

The programmes offered in PPKS Lutong Miri are:

1. Certificate in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

2. Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia in: Information System, Computer System, Graphic Design, Mechatronic and industrial Electronics

3. INSEP (Graduate Reskilling Programme) in Plantation Management

The 1.45 acre campus is well equipped with lecturer rooms, hi-tech labatories, hostels, cafeteria and an administration office.
