ICATS Signed MoU with AeU

KUCHING: Yesterday signing marks another milestone between ICATS and AeU in achieving education excellence and to provide a better life long learning for all especially working adults.

A memorandum of Understanding between was signed between ICATS and Asia e university (AeU) at PPKS seminar room. The collaboration was signed by Tuan Haji Baharudin Bin Abdullah (CEO of ICATS) and Pro. Dato’ Dr. Ansary Ahmad (President of AeU) witnessed by Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato Haji Husain (Chairman of PPKS)

The signing of MOU signifies the mutual understanding between the two leading education provider and their commitment in providing flexible learning opportunities to adult learners at their convenient.

Haji Baharudin Abdullah said, “it also reflects the good relationship between the two institutions to conduct academic programmes for the industry in order to produce more knowledgeable and efficient workers for the state and Malaysia as a whole”.

Commenting on the MoU, Haji Baharudin Abdullah, ICATS is excited about working with a University that have a dual-mode multinational university and the support from 31 Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) countries. It is a combination of face to face sessions and e-learning which are applied in an interactive learning environment thus, gives students and tutors an environment to learn and teach more effectively.

Tuan Haji Baharudin further added that, “ICATS is to undertake to provide a conducive learning venue and facilities for students who enrolled with AeU for Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate programmes. Graduates who successfully completed the program will their respective certificate awarded by AeU. ICATS will also assist AeU in carrying out marketing and promotional activities to create awareness of the programmes offered by AeU”. He also said “a Unit will be setup at ICATS in providing administrative support to students who are yet to enrol and those who already enrolled with AeU”.

“We see this as a great opportunity for all working adults to develop knowledge and skills in their respective areas of work,” said Haji Baharudin.

In this collaboration AeU will conduct the programmes that are specially designed for working adults to fit their busy working schedules and fresh graduates also encourage to apply for the programme.

It will be offered on a part-time basis and classes will be conducted during weekends by lecturers or facilitators appointed by AeU. Working adults without any formal academic qualification can opt to join any programmes offered by AeU through the Open Entry mode.

To encourage students to excel in their studies, AeU Merit scholarship is awarded to the top student in each cohort of a programme based on current academic semester performance. It is applicable to both Malaysians and international students, the scholarship will be given to the top student for the following semester of his/her study.

With the advancement of technology ICATS is playing a very important role to train younger gerneration with the right knowledge so that they can contribute to the growth of the Nation. Our continuous improvement in our teaching and learning process, implementation of management quality system based on the guidelines laid down by the government and industry shows our commitment in providing quality education to all. All teaching staff are required to attend Train of Trainers to improve their skills and expertise to ensure the right teaching methodology and knowlege are imparted to all accordingly.
