Open Day at ICATS and PPKS

OPEN DAY AT ICATS AND PPKS

The International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICATS) and Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) will jointly be holding their Open Day on the 10th – 11th of July 2010. The Open Day will be an excellent opportunity to visit a wide range of displays, speak with friendly and helpful staffs and exhibitors and obtain information. Many interesting events will be lined up for the day such as career and education exhibitions where agencies related to study loans, professional consultancies and finance will be available to give first hand information.

The college’s Open Day will serve as an avenue for visitors to gain insight into the courses and career development opportunities offered by the college. Potential students will be able to freely walk around the college, view lecture theaters and facilities and generally get a feel for the place. Demonstration for students’ projects will also enable visitors to experience the college’s study environment and students’ activities. Academics programmes that the college is offering include Nursing, Engineering, Tourism, Information Technology and Plantation Management. Courses such as Welding, Graphic Design, Drafting, Automotive, Fashion and Design, Air Conditioning Repair and Maintenance and Electrical Wiring are among the many vocational skills programmes offered by the college as well.

Talks on varies topics including Stress Management and Genera Healthcare will be held. Given by the professionals in the relevant fields, these talks are organized to create awareness on the general welfare on the community and to provide information, advice and assistance on any issues pertaining to the topics.

On a lighter note, there will also many fun activities which are open to the public such as sports carnival, paintball competition, fishing and remote control car race. The Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animal (SSPCA) will be present to hold a pet adoption campaign. To make this event interesting for children, a colouring contest and indoor games competition will be held.
