Student Affairs Unit

The Student Affairs Unit under the Registrar Department gives support to students' welfare in accordance with the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 (UUCA) and Education Act 1974.


The Unit with a mission to provide quality, comprehensive and coherent service to ensure vibrant student life, conducive learning environment and excellent living condition so that the College's graduate will be all-rounded, responsive and responsible adult later.


The functions of the Unit include :

  • to assist students in matters related to their welfare, comfort and security.
  • To administer special funds created such as Students’s Welfare Fund, Students’ Emergency Fund and Student Curriculum Fund.
  • To coordinate financial assistance for students such as study loan and scholarship.
  • To ensure conducive living condition for hostel students.
  • To coordinate and monitor students’ co-curriculum activities within and outside the College.
  • To liaise effectively with Student Representative Council / Committee to ensure proper communication between the College’s management and students.
  • To coordinate student internship or industrial training process.
  • Ensure proper coordination and execution of Orientation Week for newly enrolled students.
  • ICATS Alumni.
  • Ensure proper coordination and effectiveness of other sub-units : Career and Counselling Unit, Student Activities Unit, Disciplinary Unit, Student Residence Committee and Alumni Committee.


Career and Advisory Services

ICATS will continue to take up the challenge to help the students to develop their learning capabilities and motivate them to learn continuously. We ensure at all time effective and conducive learning environment are available. At the same time, we develop our students to be skillful and knowledgeable so that they can be competitive in the job market.

The Career and Counselling Unit, a sub-unit under the Student Affairs Unit, functions as a career consultation and advice centre. The unit has close linkage with industries to be effective in career consultancy services. The coordinatino of internship or industrial training is also handled by the Unit.
